embedded in breathtaking landscapes, Imamura supplies here a thoroughly enjoyable remake of the classic by Keisuke Kinoshita . Since the original find especially impressive because of its great styling, can Imamura version of the literary text with its high degree of existential reality and are distinguished by the impressive view of the seasons. some getting used to is perhaps the most vulgar special "village" humor of the film .

Yasujiro Ozu (1932) 9,5 / 10
The best ever I've seen Ozu. A great figure drawing, sympathetic characters, vivid realistic narrative. Ozu's silent film early work is much fresher and more entertaining than it was suppose to be sublime late work. Too bad that most of his works from this period was lost.
PRECIOUS - Life is precious
Lee Daniels (2008) 7 / 10
Very thickly applied lacrimal glands drama. So much bad luck holds out but not human. At least the actress is convinced.
AGORA - the pillars of heaven
Alejandro Amenabar (2009) 8 / 10
Amenabar makes impressive images in the Alexandria of the early Christian life. A depressing study of human fanaticism, suffocating the beauty of the mind. When mindless destruction of the library, I had to swallow much more than Lee Daniels calculated Hell Tour.
Akira Kurosawa (1951) 7,5 / 10
Overall an ambiguous Kurosawa. Some scenes are outstanding, as the night Eisfest, but overall it will not congeal to form a circular unit. In particular, convincing characterization and representation of the "idiots" not me. This could also be due to the simple psychology of the literary original.

Ein frischer künstlerisch beeindruckender Miyazaki. So etwas hätte ich dem Altmeister gar nicht mehr zugetraut! Lediglich das erzählerisch sehr schwache Finale enttäuscht und verhindert so eine noch höhere Wertung.
YATSUHAKA-MURA - Das Dorf der acht Grabsteine

Atmosphärisch in den ersten 2/3 a perfectly coherent horror and mystery-Mar. The partly staged and ridiculously cheap interspersed with logic holes last third destroyed the good impression early but complete.
KICK-ASS
Matthew Vaughn (2010) 7 / 10
Cute comic book adaptation with some bloody and very entertaining action scenes garnished. The good initial idea (Normalo plays super hero) but had much more substance to offer. A lot of potential to the cheap effect was sacrificed.
